# DataLens On-premises workbooks and collections

DataLens entities are stored in special containers:

* A **workbook** stores [connections](../concepts/connection/index.md), [datasets](../dataset/index.md), [charts](../concepts/chart/index.md), [dashboards](../concepts/dashboard.md), and [reports](../reports/index.md). Entities within a workbook may only refer to each other.
* A **collection** is a container used for grouping workbooks and other collections.

More on how to work with a [workbook](./workbooks-operations.md) or [collection](./collections-operations.md).

You can look up where the object is used or which objects are used by it. Do it by clicking <!-- diplodoc:svg ![image](../_assets/console-icons/ellipsis.svg) --><svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="16" height="16" fill="none" viewBox="0 0 16 16"><path fill="currentColor" fill-rule="evenodd" d="M3 9.5a1.5 1.5 0 1 0 0-3 1.5 1.5 0 0 0 0 3M9.5 8a1.5 1.5 0 1 1-3 0 1.5 1.5 0 0 1 3 0m5 0a1.5 1.5 0 1 1-3 0 1.5 1.5 0 0 1 3 0" clip-rule="evenodd"/></svg> → <!-- diplodoc:svg ![image](../_assets/console-icons/code-trunk.svg) --><svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="16" height="16" fill="none" viewBox="0 0 16 16"><path fill="currentColor" fill-rule="evenodd" d="M5.312 4.909A1.25 1.25 0 1 1 3.19 3.593a1.25 1.25 0 0 1 2.123 1.316m-2.124 6.182a1.25 1.25 0 1 0 2.125 1.318 1.25 1.25 0 0 0-2.125-1.318M5 9.104V6.896a2.751 2.751 0 1 0-1.5 0v2.208A2.751 2.751 0 1 0 6.896 12.5H9.5a3 3 0 0 0 3-2.98V6.895a2.751 2.751 0 1 0-1.5 0V9.5A1.5 1.5 0 0 1 9.5 11H6.896A2.76 2.76 0 0 0 5 9.104m7.812-4.195a1.25 1.25 0 1 0-2.125-1.318 1.25 1.25 0 0 0 2.125 1.318" clip-rule="evenodd"/></svg> **Linked objects** on the workbook page or object editing window. For example, this can give you a clue as to the sources used to build a dashboard or the charts based on a certain dataset.
